Karen D. Nichols is an award-winning artist in Florence, Oregon where she is a member of Backstreet Gallery. Her work has been shown at the Newport Art Center, Florence Events Center, Florence Regional Arts Alliance Art Center, Peace Harbor Hospital, Florence Chamber of Commerce, Old Town Coffee, The Siuslaw Library and various venues around Florence.
Her illustrations have been used in books and on book covers. She is also an accomplished writer. In addition to her eight novels, she writes feature stories for Backstreet Gallery and numerous articles for the Siuslaw Newspaper. She also writes The Moral of the story column for the Siuslaw news. She has been a jurist for Northwest Writers' Association competition.
